I’ve been trying for months to get a truly Lucid Dream, which is a dream where you are completely in control of everything and you can pretty much do anything you want.
Today while taking a nap, that finally happened for me. One of the techniques used to help you lucid dream, is to check your surroundings as soon as you start dreaming to look for clues. Some of the easiest ones are to look at yourself in a mirror (you won’t see yourself in the reflection) or you can look at a clock, turn away, and look back again (the time will have changed by hours, or display 39:23 or something like that).
I don’t remember too much of my dream because I didn’t write it down as soon as I woke up, but what I remember goes as follows:
-I awoke from my bed, in my apartment room where I was taking my nap and attempted to get out. As soon as I stood up, I had a really hard time balancing, like I was drunk or something. The walls and everything around me were pretty blurry too, but I eventually gained balance and began to walk down the hall.
-After getting to the kitchen, I glanced to the clock on our oven, it said 1:45 (which is actually around the time I was napping). Doing a double-take on the clock, it now read 4:63.
-At this moment I was 100% sure I was dreaming, and my body attempted to wake itself up. Previous times I had gotten this far in my dream and my body had won, but I managed to fight it off by spinning around in a circle (I have no idea why, but it does actually work).
————————————————————————
-Unfortunately the reason why I remember any of this is because I had an alarm set to take a nap in-between two of my classes so I had to get up and move around before I could recollect what happened or write any of it down.
-All I can remember happening afterwards is going flying around what was supposed to be Cal Poly, but a really ugly and disorganized version (more than it is now anyhow) and I got up the the P in a few seconds and was able to see SLO for miles. I also randomly happened to run into the cast of Psych which was pretty cool, but I don’t really remember what else happened after that.
-Hopefully I will get another chance to do this when I don’t have class right after and I can actually document what happened :D
